Relieving Stress in the Kitchen
Author: Listening2Ivory
We all have the occasional rough day at the office. When I’m feeling particularly stressed out, I’m careful not to bring those issues home with me. After all, it’s not my family’s fault if I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. Rather than bottling up all of that anger and frustration, I find positive outlets to release that aggression. Most recently, I’ve been making a quick stop at the grocery store and arriving home to cook a delicious meal.
Whether I’m cooking alone or with the help of my son and daughter, I always turn on some relaxation music before washing the fruits and vegetables. Then I begin preparing ingredients, reveling in the tempting aromas coming from the oven and the stove. By the time I’m finished preparing the food, I feel a renewed sense of accomplishment and self-worth. Watching the family chowing down on the fruits of my labor makes it all worthwhile.
